Ken last year combined instructing at Tremblant, Calabogie
and Shannonville and professional Racecar setups with road
racing with the Castrol Canadian TOURING CAR Championship
at the Honda Indy in Toronto, Ted Powell Memorial MCO race
at Calabogie Motorsports Park and Grand Prix Trios Rivieres
with the occasional Sprint race in GT3 and his stockcar racing
in the ACT Late Models at Capital City Speedway. This year
promises more of the same variety and action,
Ken has been racing in motorsports since 1991, starting with
karts then quickly moving to road and stock car racing, including
GT Sprints, ChampCar, CASCAR, ProTruck Series and NASCAR.
Most recently, Ken has been driving in the ACT Late Model
Class, and instructing with various clubs in Ontario and Quebec.
Ken is the owner/operator of Main Street Racing & Automotive
Inc. in North Gower, Ontario specializing in performance race
setups.

2009 ACT Late Model races at Capital City and Kawartha blended
regular weekly stockcar racing and road racing with the 8
Legs Racing Team in GT Sprints, Enduro and Castrol Canadian
TOURING CAR Championship at Mosport, Shannonville and Calabogie,
Honda Indy in Toronto and Grand Prix Trois Rivieres, along
with various instructing sessions for BMW Ottawa and BMW Quebec.

2008 saw a new racecar for the ACT Late Model Class, built
by Main Street Racing and Automotive with CARQUEST as the
prime sponsor. A blown engine early in the season loses points
for the CARQUEST #2 car, but two weeks later the new ACT crate
motor is in the car and stockcar racing at Kawartha Speedway
and Capital City Speedway continues the full season, with
Ken winning the Summer ShootOut for Ottawa drivers. TechoBloc
rents the Car for the Winter for shows in the USA and Canada
2008 Road race wise - Racing at the Ted Powell Memorial in
8Legs Racing's Mercury Cougar, an new car to them, wins a
fourth place after starting from the back. That along with
instructing at Calabogie with the BMW Club for Ottawa and
for Quebec Region, and other race and instructing opportunities
as they arise including the new track a Mirabel makes a fair
season all round.

Instructing Circuit Mt Tremblant with Quebec BMW Club, two
day sessions.
2006 - Late Model, at the NEW Drummond's Capital City Speedway,
finishing 3rd in the Points. 2006 marked a return to Capital
City Speedway, in the Late Model Class.
Instructing with MCO and a chance to drive 300kms on the then
NEW Calabogie Motorsports Racetrack.
2005 Ken raced ACT - American Canadian Tour Series racing
in Vermont, and worked with the Riopelle Race team also in
ACT and at Kawartha Speedway here in Ontario.
NASCAR in Canada
2004, NASCAR came to Canada and Ken was the first driver to
sign up at the Autodrome St Eustache-Old Milwaukee Dodge Weekly
Series. 2004 - kenbaird@mainstreetottawa.com Autodrome St
Eustache-Old Milwaukee. Ken raced in NASCAR in Canada in the
North East Division (www.nascar.com).
Main Street Racing & Automotive Inc.'s Incorporated was
formed and the season started with the new NASCAR being setup
to match the Old Milwaukee Speedway. A couple of engine failures,
and a major frame replacement didn't help, but by August the
Main Street Racing NASCAR was FASTEST in practice sessions.
ProTruck racing also continued at both Ottodrome and Old Milwaukee
tracks, along with CASCAR races in Ottawa.
Early History
1990 - Kart Racing Ken started motorsports racing in 1990
when he moved from BMX to Karting with the National Capital
Karting Club.
1991 - Enduro Stock Car Racing - Ken started StockCars that
year racing in Enduros.
1993 - ProStock - Ottawa, won Rookie of the Year at Capital
City Speedway. He drove his Main Street Racing Pro Stock and
won Rookie of the Year.
Two years later he clinched the Pro Stock Championship.
Started Main Street Racing doing performance, setup and instruction
along with Racing
1995 - ProStock Championship (Ottawa)
In 1996, Ken made the move to CASCAR racing in both Ottawa
and Montreal. With his self-owned, locally sponsored car,
he finished second in his first two feature races in a field
of 15 veteran drivers. He won Rookie of the Year with 4th
in points. Ken raced the next two years in CASCAR. 1996 -
CASCAR Rookie of the Year (Ottawa)
1997 - CASCAR, including CASCAR Superseries Races at Capital
City Speedway. 2nd in the Regional Series for Ontario and
Quebec.

1998 - Jim Russell Racing School and won his class. 1998 -
CASCAR Series in Ottawa and Montreal. Jim Russell Driving
School
- Won Top in Class, Advanced Driver Class
- Raced in the 1998 Fall Runoffs at Mt Tremblant.
In the next couple of years Ken raced in the GTC and GTB Series
and with his own ChampCar Light.
1999 - Won the Gordon Michael Dewar Trophy for Rookie Race
Driver of the Year Plus, in the GT Points Race, 3rd in GTC
and 9th in GTB in one year. His move to GTB for only the last
two race weekends gave him a 7th place Recalculated points
would give him Second Place in GTB.
2000 - Raced Canadian ChampCar Lights - Trois Rivieres Grand
Prix, Mosport, Autodrome Chicoutimi, Shannonville.
ChampCar Lights - This Series let Ken leverage his experience
on oval and road race tracks. The cars have sealed engines
and enforced specifications so the drivers and teams make
the winning difference. The Canadian ChampCar Lights Series
concentrated on driver skill development and competition.
Also raced in the ProTruck Series in Ottawa and Montreal's
Old Milwaukee Autodrome
In 2001 Ken also did Stock Car Racing with the #2 ProTruck
racing in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. 2001 - Rookie
Season in the ANCA ProTruck Series racing in Ontario and Quebec.
Drove Canaska Cup Pace Car and Instructed at both of MCO's
Winter Driving School and Summer Lapping Days at Shannonville.
Ken raced in the Pro Truck Series and in the Canadian ChampCar
Lights
In 2002 he did some CASCAR events in St Croix as well as Ottawa
and Montreal. 2002 - Ken Baird and Main Street Racing enjoyed
a most successful season in CARQUEST #2 ProTruck. Highlights
were:

In 2003 - Marks another Successful year with CARQUEST's ProTruck,
Shannonville Motorsprots Park Winning the MCO GTB . Also in
2003 Ken Baird raced the Price Paving CASCAR 27 placing in
his all finish races as well as racing the ProTruck #2, coming
first in two.
